Feelings...Nothing More Than Feelings.......

The Meds Seem To be Working!!!!

When people suffer from depression, they have persistent sad moods, feelings of worthlessness or guilt, and the inability to feel pleasure or happiness.

Lately, I have had feelings that I have not had for a very long time. Feelings of joy, anticipation of good things to come, and the sheer pleasure of waking up and looking forward to a new day. I can't tell you what that feels like. Some people take that for granted, and if you do, don't!!

When one suffers from depression, using the Richter Scale (metaphorically speaking), nothing registers. You feel zilch!

This is just my experience with it and if it differs with anyone else's, well then ......... I am only speaking for myself here. But with the new medication I am taking, I am thanking God that there is medication available to help me feel this way again.

My Doctor tells me that once the medication starts to kick in, then she can help me to find my way back home again. I'm so excited I could burst!

I hate depending on drugs but here's hoping that they won't be forever!!!!

Happy Weekend!!!

Life is short. If the drug is legal and it does the trick then go for it! Right? ;)

I'm so happy for you Maggieizzle!

I'm not sure if my original comment went through. It seems to have gone into la-la land.

I just wanted to reflect that I was happy to see you find this balance and happiness in life again. I also take meds, but for different conditions. I will need to take them for the rest of my life. Like you I am not keen on taking any meds, but they keep my own body chemistry in balance and improve my quality of life.

Have a great week, Maggie!

Hi BG, Oh, they're legal alright, I get them at the pharmacy.
Thank you so much sweetie, your wishes mean a lot to me. :)

Hi Lemuel, Thank you so much for your kind words. It's so weird, my chronicling my own recovery. I have come to know myself very well over the past few years.

You have a great week too. :-)

That's wonderful news Maggie. It amazes me how many people are going through what you are going through. It sounds like it's a tough road, but you're clearly on the right path again. I'm very happy for you.

you summed that up well; can I borrow the richter scale metaphor?
I hope you soon feel all sorts of things.

Hi Steve, Thank you so much. Depression is more common than most people think. The sad part is that a lot of people don't get diagnosed and treated.

Hi Spo, Thank you, from you of all people, who deal with this illness every day.

Borrow away, it's an orginal. :)
